The iMapper is an easy tool to use and you will have all the experience you need after a few scans. We will guide you step by step to make iMapper your favourite tool.

| Pro tip! Charge your iMapper completely before using it.

iMapper will give you an idea of its charge with acustic signals when you turn it on: 1 beep: 3/3 charged 2 beeps: 2/3 charged **3 beeps: **1/3 charged 4 beeps: it needs charging

Step 1: Set up for a horizontal scan

Open the tripod making sure you have unfolded all necessary parts to their full lenghts. Then, adjust if necessary.
Remove the small plastic plate and attach iMapper's base directly to the tripod.
Ensure the tripod is leveled.

|| If walls are vertical (it’s not the case if the walls are out of plumb), the error due to a not perfect horizontality is not that important (+3mm if you are above the horizon line of 10 cm at 3m distance). How to manage pointclouds

Step 1 : Understand each pointclouds

Insert each scan by clicking on the purple + button in your ** Project files** layer panel (bottom left of your screen), then select the scans you want to view in your project and click Add.

Notice how some pointclouds will attach automatically, the automatic assembly will be successful if scans in adjacent rooms have enough points in common.

Select and move each one of them by selecting it and dragging it around your workspace area.

| Pro tip! You can select each pointcloud by clicking on the iMapper target or by selecting the single scan in the Project files layer panel. Use the selection box by left clicking on your workspace and dragging your mouse over the pointclouds you want to select while holding the click.

Step 2: Viewing photos.

You can force the system to display the pictures of a specific pointcloud by selecting it.

Click on the **Panorama ** icon at the top right of the screen to show / hide photos. Select a pointcloud to view only the photos related to the selected pointcloud.

iMapper to AutoCAD: Step-By-Step Guide

Step 1: Export data to file

Simply click on the Export button, select the DXF option and unit of measure you prefer working with. Point clouds, lines betwen the points, walls (that you can draw with the area tool) or iMapper positions can all be exported, you can choose to export them by ticking the relevant boxes.

You can export the point clouds under several layers if necessary (one layer per point cloud). To do this check the box “one layer per point cloud and area”.
